Goodbye Christie

Yesterday Daniel and I met up with our American pal Christie who lives in Nyíregyháza. Christie has been working as an English teacher in Hungary for three years, and she's pretty amazing. She always has loads of helpful advice for us, and she speaks excellent Hungarian (as far as we can tell) so going out to places with her is always fun.

Anyway, Christie recently applied to work in China and found herself an awesome job teaching English at a university in Shanghai. She leaves Hungary in a few weeks, and since Daniel and I are planning to leave on another road trip soon, we decided to meet up last night to say goodbye.

We went to a restaurant that was nowhere near the Tesco in Nyíregyháza, but was awesome just the same. Daniel and Christie decided to share a food platter - it was pretty huge - here are a couple of before and after pictures. I like how the picture on the right makes it seem as if Christie had been entirely defeated by the effort, but Daniel was still happily eating :)

Goodbye Christie, we hope you have a blast in China! Keep in touch!

- Amanda
